Lamborghini presents the ultimate driving machine among open-top two-seaters – the Reventón Roadster is a sports car of breathtaking fascination, menacing power and uncompromising performance. Lamborghini Estoque - a true sports car

Clearly a sports car

The front end of the Estoque is a clear and unambiguous statement of its sports car credentials. Its place amongst the family of Lamborghini super sports cars is also distinct and unmistakable – with its swooping V-shape, its two large air intakes pulled forward and the small front spoiler in between. This front end design gives the Estoque a firm, low stance, while providing excellent aerodynamic efficiency. The large air intakes facilitate the cooling air that is important for such a high-performance vehicle and the spoiler was specifically designed to improve aerodynamic balance at high speeds.

Such distinctive sports car architecture is only possible by positioning the front mid-engine well towards the rear. Despite the very low bonnet, it goes without saying that the Estoque fulfils all safety regulations and pedestrian protection standards.

Lamborghini is preparing the Murcélago successor for 2010

The Lamborghini Murciélago has been introduced back in September 2001 as the 6.2 model, in March 2004 the amazing Roadster derivative saw the light during the Geneva Auto Show, only two years later the same Geneva show saw the unveiling of the impressive LP640 model, a masterpiece with 640 Bhp. People didn't have to wait too long to have the open top version of this new flagship, in December 2006 the LP640 Roadster became available. These days the Murciélago is still selling steadily as the only V12 available from Automobili Lamborghini SpA, but they are already thinking about a successor naturally.

Naturally no details are officially available, and judging by how well Automobili Lamborghini SpA kept both the Reventón and the Estoque a secret until days before the public unveiling, I doubt very much we'll be seeing anything 'in writing' about this flagship replacement. Naturally the rumors have been going around the internet for a while now, and one thing they all have in common is the name : the new crown jewel from Sant'Agata could be called 'JOTA', a name used in the past on the one of a kind Miura race car built by Bob Wallace and again on the special edition of the Diablo SE 30 model, when a Jota kit was available to pump even more power out of the V12 engine.

Other than that is is obvious the new Lamborghini will feature a Carbon Fiber tub instead of the current steel space frame, however the front and rear subframes will probably still be using steel on the new car, the Jota (if that will be it's name) will also be larger and used considerably bigger tires, today the Murciélago still rides on 18-inch ones, but looking at the rare spy photo's it is obvious the wheels are bigger on this test car.

As always we'll have to be patient to see what Sant'Agata has in store for us, but voices 'in the know' talk about an unveiling as early as the 2010 Geneva Auto Show, with the successful Roadster evolution available later the same year ... could be Paris, can't wait to see this.

If you don't have the patience to wait another two years, you could get lucky in a few months already, the long awaited SuperVeloce edition of the Murciélago LP640 is still being considered, and the latest 'intell' mentions that it could very well be among us in early 2009, probably at the Geneva Auto Show ... Automobili Lamborghini SpA has vouched it would be showing one new model every year so hopes are high for 2009, the Gallardo LP560-4 Spyder is still eagerly awaited, but other specials based on the V10 model could be shown too, however a Superleggera version is very unlikely.

It is obvious the Raging Bull rules again !

Gallardo Spyder

The production spyder model of the Gallardo was unveiled at the Los Angeles Auto Show in January 2006. It is considered by the company to be an entirely new model, with 520 hp (388 kW) and a lower-ratio six-speed manual transmission. The soft top is fully retractable.

Aerosmith drummer Joey Kramer was the first person in North America to take delivery of the Gallardo Spyder.

Top Gear presenter Jeremy Clarkson announced on 18 February 2007 that he had bought a Gallardo Spyder, replacing his Ford GT.

The Gallardo was designed as a competitor to the Ferrari 360, and now competes with its replacement, the Ferrari F430. The Gallardo has a rear-biased all-wheel drive system which differentiates it from its rear-wheel drive competitors. Lamborghini's parent company Audi is renowned for its quattro 4WD system, however Lamborghini uses a system of its own.

Unlike the Countach, Diablo, and Murciélago models, the Gallardo does not have scissor doors.

The Gallardo was designed by Luc Donckerwolke, who won the 2003 Red Dot Award for the design of both the 2003 Gallardo and 2002 Murciélago.

At current U.S. prices, a 2008 Lamborghini Gallardo coupe costs USD $186,250 - $222,800, while a 2008 Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder costs USD $201,595 - $263,595.

As of March 2008, the Gallardo is the only model to use the Lamborghini V10 engine.[citation needed]

The Gallardo offers two choices of transmissions, a conventional (H-Box) six-speed manual transmission, and an advanced six-speed electro-hydraulically controlled 'semi-automatic single-clutch sequential manual', which Lamborghini abbreviates to "E-gear". The "E-gear" allows the driver to make shifts much faster than a manual transmission would. The driver shifts up and down via paddles behind the steering wheel, and does not need to manually actuate the clutch.

The Audi R8 sports car, launched in early 2007, is based on the Gallardo platform, and uses a 4.2 litre V8 in place of the Gallardo's V10 to avoid competing directly with the Gallardo.

For the 2008 model year, an onboard computer, iPod connectivity with USB, heated mirrors, Q-citura stitching that originally could only be found on the Nera model, and a beige soft-top on the Spyder, were added to the Gallardo.

The Lamborghini Embolado is an extreme sportscar characterized by an aggressive design with sharp and steady lines. The author is Luca Serafini, an Industrial Design final year student at University of Parma, Italy.

Created by Italian design student Luca Serafini, the idea of the Embolado came from the Spanish festival Toro Embolado, meaning ‘bull in balls’, an event where balls of flammable material are attached to the horns of a bull and lit on fire. The bull is then set free in the streets at night. “The choice of the name was the first step towards the creation of this concept,” says Serafini. He’s even created a Superleggera version of the car with similar styling cues to the recently released Gallardo Superleggera.

The Embolado was modeled in Rhino; the final renderings were created in 3DStudio MAX, with some post-process in Photoshop.

About the Designer

Luca Serafini is currently in his final year of the Industrial Design Course at the University of Parma, Italy. For three years he participated in the chassis design of the Formula Student racing car, in partnership with the University of Modena. Among his professional experiences are collaborations with the Milan Politecnico and with car cutomization projects. He is starting a career as a freelance designer.

With the Lamborghini Murcielago LP640, the designers at the Lamborghini Style Centre maintained the traditional Lamborghini principles of purism, sport and function. The Murciélago LP640 now appears even more aggressive, with the new front and rear bumpers contributing significantly to its appearance.

The engine of the new Murcielago LP640 has undergone outstanding and radical modification. The classic V-engine is boosted to 6.5 litres. The already extraordinary 580 hp engine power has now been elevated to an impressive peak of 640 hp at 8,000 rpm.
